I do believe it’s possible the Fema camps could be misused by a corrupt government, however, the intent of those camps is for natural disasters like Katrina. When all those people died in the New Orleans Dome without decent bathrooms, and a place to make food, it was a terrible response by FEMA in New Orleans, even the Mayor.

The cost of that disaster was monumental, and the camps are no doubt an effort to have a place to transport victims too, that will not cost what these last few disasters have cost taxpayers...it is possible we are over reacting, just as that teenager did with such an absurd statement about gun owners and concentration camps.

Those small hot trailers were no place to live near New Orleans, and bussing people out of there didn’t happen by the Gov or Mayor, and not many went vountarily. Huge expensive hotel bills came from trying to put up hundreds of families long term due to such massive destruction. Most of those people were poor and the families lost everything, so there was no money for funerals. There seems to be a response to that in the mass gravesites for the future.

I believe those Fema Camps are supposed to prevent such a lousy response in the future. The secret response to the public by the government is probably due to their being on secure military bases, where people can be handled in larger groups. This is a plausible explanation, imho.

There will no doubt be mandatory evacuations in the future that will have to be done by the military, if there is time. Larger tornado damage, hurricanes, and even fires in the west make it necessary to provide shelter, food, and in long term situations for those whose homes are destroyed.

So although I am very skeptical about this Administration, the Fema Camps are probably an answer to Katrina and other failed emergency responses. And yes, with all the conspiracy theories going around (which may or may not be true) there will be resistance on the part of Americans during a crisis fearing martial law if chaos breaks out...real or not, and we can expect the government to act aggressively. WE should always keep our wits about us, and act only in response to what is actually going on.
