I wonder if the 236 are concentrated in a few areas with anti-CCW police chiefs.

Every time I see or hear, STATE POLICE, the hair on my neck stands up. When I was in school, back in the dark ages I remember being told that most states rejected that name in favor of Highway Patrol because most America objected to having a state police. Maybe that's why.
Of course in some states (most) Highway Patrol needs to be changed to Revenue Enhancement Officer.

Importantly, the first of the licenses will begin to be issued in March, so enough of them should be issued by summer to perhaps see a statistical impact on crime in Chicago. Of course, just 8,000 licenses in Cook County is a tiny number.
Were they issued earlier, the politicians would have undoubtedly excused the lower crime rate on the weather.

Yes, its a nonstory given that over 99.3% of gun owners never commit a crime with a gun. Why wouldn’t they be getting approved?
