I have to agree. Besides, a balanced budget amendment would never be used to cut wasteful spending. It WILL be used to raise the tax burden to the sky.

That is precisely what we intend to fix. This will be accomplished by such ideas as repealing the 17 amendment. Passing an amendment that empowers the states to override the federal government by say two-thirds or three quarters of the states voting to override. I believe the cos will meet initially to pass one amendment. It will either be a balanced budget amendment or the repeal of the 17th amendment. If the initial cos goes fairly smoothly there will be additional conventions to address other issues. Baby steps.
