That’s not exactly advertising now is it? Which proves my point that they really don’t give a flip what the American people want. If they did, they would broadcast what they are doing on the news and have widely advertised town halls across the country. They could care less. It’s an agenda for them and no telling what else.

I have spent a day reading (100's) of pages of proposed regulations and my comment to you was that I am screwed along with everybody else when I can't get replacement parts. There's no specific rule against making and selling replacement parts but I have not gone through the all of the 100's of pages yet.

My beef with the original post is that it incorrectly stated that wood stoves have been banned and the Forbes article was misleading. Wood stoves have not been banned, a ban is being proposed starting later this year (comment period expires in May)

The solution by some posters is to ignore that inaccuracy, ignore the fact that there is a comment period and go on the assumption that (noncompliant) wood stoves have been banned. Nothing really wrong with that considering that it will help hasten the demise of the regime (i.e. give them the rope).

I believe however that it is important to let people know the fact that this is a proposed ban and should be fought by political means. There are plenty of farm state senators who will have a majority of constituents against this. They need to be communicated with to put a stop to this.

If people want to add some reactionary commentary as well, fine. But the political action message has to get out and that's what I am doing, especially after taking the time to wade through the EPA's crap.

If you hve a wood stove or a wood fired boiler for heat, in these states, you will be a criminal pretty soon.

They (EPA) have comment periods that anyone, even you and I, can input to.

I always assume that any opportunity provided by the Feral Government for us to make comments or give input are really thinly disguised mechanisms to gather the names of people they will categorize as potential domestic terrorists.

Then they have me down cold.

If nobody shows up, they don’t even need to intimidate us.

“That’s not exactly advertising now is it? “

I’m pretty sure it’s in newspapers, too, in the Legal Notices section. You don’t need that now, though, you know where to look for yourself, and can tell other people where to look.

I read Legal Notices, that’s where I find state, county, fed, and local meeting announcements and, more fun, storage locker auctions.

How many times does your spouse have to cheat on you before you realize they are a serial adulterer?

You really couldn't put a little more thought into it and come up with a somewhat less tasteless analogy?

How much evil does the Federal Govt have to do before someone realizes that EVERYTHING coming out of Washington DC today is cancer?

None. We all realize that there is a cancer in Washington. Proposals for eliminating it? You have only two ways to go.

Do you do storage locker auctions? I’ve always thought that might be fun but between stuff I have accumulated and several family estates, I already have enough to get rid of.

Anyone with a welder and some sheet metal along with a few extra parts can build their own wood stove. I've seen wood stoves built out of steel drums. Do you suppose the EPA is going to raid everyone’s home that they see smoke coming out of? I have several home made wood stoves and know lots of people with them. They're not going to be able to stop people from building their own.

A good friend had another friend weld him a steel drum stove. Actually two drums with the second to capture extra heat. It’s going to become much more common if EPA gets its way and forces significant price rises. The homemade stoves should be easy to detect from exhaust, but there are ways of hiding it.

I have been to a few, and yes, the problem is getting rid of ten medium boxes of old tshirts when all you wanted was the bicycle. You have to have an outlet like a flea market table or secondhand store.

Bloody Sam, my analogy was not obviously aimed at your personal life, it was more to the fact that conservatives have to realize that just because a bill or Govt initiative starts out benign, it always ends up cancer.

The law only effects new..........yeah right. And then 3 years later it morphs into much more. Fireplace Laws, Gun Laws, Loss of Private Property Laws, on and on. Anything coming out of Washington should be opposed.

I apologize if I came off strong to you personally.

We have a Christian mission thrift store here that we donate to. They sell stuff to make money and also box things up to send overseas to poor countries. Apparently some of these countries use old tee shirts and clothes to make bandages out of. Pretty sad if you ask me but that’s probably what we’ll be doing here soon. I’m sure they wear some of them too.

Prior to central heating the air would be unbreathable at times and places in the winter.

Well, then those people need to scatter out some.
