"If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures." - Alexander Hamilton |
|
"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldnt make any sense at all." -- President Ronald Reagan |
|
"A thing moderately good is not so good as it ought to be. Moderation in temper is always a virtue; but moderation in principle is always a vice." - Thomas Paine 1792 |
|
"It does not take a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men." - Samuel Adams |
|
"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams |

Read the article.
It makes it clear that conservatives abandoning Christie was a direct result of Christie abandoning conservatives and conservatism.

“Republican establishment politicians are infamous for abandoning conservatives after they ask them to dance. Christie, though, has never even courted the Tea Party movement and the conservative base, having spent the better part of the last four years kissing up to the mainstream media...”
...and putting his arm around Obama.

This is why that famous “conservative” Rudy G. is now hedging his bets with fat boy.

He was never embraced by conservatives. He wasn't embraced by libertarians either. The only ones who seemed to support Christie were the establishment Republicans responsible for the Bush #41, Dole, McCain and Romney fiascos. He'd never bring out the social conservative vote and 2A vote in Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Florida -- which is critical. (Because he's not a social conservative, and he doesn't support the second amendment.)

Rudy Giuliani realized after the 2008 season that he would never be embraced by republicans outside of NY and a few other states.
Christie hasn’t realized that fact yet.

Abandoned by conservatives? Ha. He was never embraced by conservatives.
He has been abandoned by his own kind...RINOS.
In addition, not one GOP Governor has stepped up to defend him.
No House or Senate members have stepped up to defend him.

Who abandoned who.

He has never been anything but a big city RINO mouth piece. He is not a conservative that the red flyover country liked or was comfortable with.
