The infamous “Tango and Cash” smack that killed a number of junkies in the 1990s was also tainted with fentanyl. Supposedly, some of the users died within seconds of the injection.
Fentanyl, as I understand it (medical types, feel free to correct me here), exerts a powerful suppression effect on the respiratory system, far more so that heroin or other opiods/opiates.
Fentanyl is synthetic opiate. Very quick acting with a short half life.
A typical dose of IV morphine is 4 to 10 milligrams.
A dose of Fentanyl might be 25 to 75 MICROGRAMS.
There are 1000 micrograms to a milligram.
There’s another drug out there. Sufentanyl that’s 100 times stronger then Fentanyl.....
Therapeutic doses are measured in micrograms. That’s why medical preparations are solutions. You can’t ‘step’ on fentanyl enough in granular (powder) form to be safe.
