An actor dead from of a drug overdose in Greenwich Village?
Nah, can’t be.
You just can’t make this stuff up.
This really pains me, I love him on every level he had me follow him to.
Big, Big, BIG loss. Prayers for his family, friends, colleagues, us, everybody.
Hoffman, you were good at your craft and made us think. Will be missing you forever as I watch films you’re in.
What a shame. Great character actor. RIP.
I always liked his acting too but he’s had a bad drinking and drug habit over the years. He goes on the wagon then gets off. I guess this time, he’s not getting back on. This should be a lesson to anyone who thinks you can dabble in drugs and alcohol without risk.
and BTW it was “accidental”....
How do you fill your body with poison, on your own, by your own free will, and call it accidental?
Sounds like suicide to me.

Yeah, I had oxycondin (?) prescribed because I broke my elbow during a fall on super slippery ice about a month ago. It was incredible—the pain disappeared. I didn’t get goofy, but I could actually move my arm and brush my hair. I can see how certain substances would be incredibly addictive. And I am a bit prone to that. Any sort of narcotics or tranquilizers that are prescribed to me, I use as few of them as possible. And yet... I want it.... there is a pull like that.
