You don't have to like Richard. That's fine. He's one of those players who must get amped up to play his best. A human being can't just shut that mindset, necessary for winning, off on a dime. Think about anything strenuous and emotional you've ever done. A wise idea is to give the players a 10-minute cool-off period after the game before speaking with the Erin Andrews of the world.

Part of Pete Carroll's success strategy is, to the extent possible, to let the players be themselves rather than fitting them into a straitjacket. He wants to help them be the best they can be rather than merely forcing them into a mold. In turn, players now want to come to Seattle and play under Carroll. He and Schneider have done a fantastic job.
