Regardless of who wins, Super Bowl XLVIII will be the longest for the next 20 years...

(And the first one played “in the elements” with the FANS on real grass ;)

Prediction: The Broncos move towards evening up their S/B record at 3-4 ... DEN 31, SEA 17

sometimes a mind can get itself so smart it has the ability to make issues where there are none.

just play the game, Richard, play the game.

and spare us the melodrama .. we have enough of it already.

Well, the word "thug" often is preceded by "union" so I don't think thug by itself connotes anything racial. However, bad behavior by a black person should not automatically be labeled "thuggish". It's thuggish if it has elements of gangsta culture involved in the behavior. Things like excessive concern with "dissing" and a glorification of violence perhaps. I like Richard Sherman a lot. I think he was doing a little too much of a gangsta act on Crabtree, and he caught a lot of flak for it. That's not who he is, but a lot of people got a bad impression of him because of that one interview. Contrast that performance with the measured verbal smack he delivered in the press room after the game with the emphasis on me-di-o-cre. That sent the same message, but in a way that would not be labeled "thuggish".

He is right that thug should not be thrown around willy nilly at blacks, but wrong to ascribe racist connotations to those who did it with him for his post game antics. They just saw a screaming maniac and the word seemed to fit. Let it go.

I’ve been watching ticket prices come down the past 12 hours....(I’m a Jets season ticket holder and live 50 minutes from the stadium- have no plans to go)...

tickets which were $1999 last night now going for under $1600...

interesting to watch the ticket market...

Denver will play well for three quarters but two Denver turnovers leading to Seahawk scores in the fourth give Seattle the game 27-24.

THE KEY TO THE GAME, WHICH WE WILL KNOW FAIRLY QUICKLY

If Seattle is allowed to be physical with Bronco receivers without many penalties, the Seahawks have a chance. If defensive holding and pass interference are called often and early, it will be all over for them.

I’ll root for Manning to get his second ring as I really like the Mannings. I don’t hate one of the teams in the Super Bowl this year, so I wouldn’t be that upset if the Seahawks won.

Don’t forget Sherman and Crabtree have a history, including an off season charity event at which Sherman claims he tried to patch things up and Crabtree started a fight instead. (I haven’t heard Crabtree’s version, but there seem to be witnesses who back up Sherman’s story.)

Yes, Sherman lost it when he went off on Crabtree on national TV. He had also just made the biggest play of his career, and then been stiff armed in the head by Crabtree long after the play was over. Crabtree was way out of line.

Sherman talks too much, but he backs it up on the field. Off the field he seems to be a really good guy. Nor is he a “dumb jock”. He did not just go to Standford, he graduated from there. He thanks God for his success, and seems to really mean it.

Sherman should not have lost it when he was interviewed, even though it was in the heat of the moment. He has apologized for it, and avoided further controversy in spite of media attempts to bait him into further stupid statements during the media blitz prior to the Super Bowl.

As for whether he is really as good as he says he is, he’ll never get a tougher test than he’ll get today. Personally, I’m looking forward to seeing it.

Thought the ref’s were in bed with the Hawks, allowing the backs to hold on almost every passing play, against the niners.

According to my shtick things seem to boil down to Seattle keeping Denver to 24 points. I'm predicting Denver as the winner, but if Seattle can keep Denver to 24 points or below, I think Seattle has a chance of winning. Analysis below.

The special treat this year’s Super Bowl offers football fans will be the contest between the NFL’s top-ranked scoring offense against the top-ranked defense against scoring. Denver’s indomitable offense featuring legendary quarterback Payton Manning has set all-time NFL records in both scoring points and passing yards this season. However, waiting on the other side of the ball will be Seattle’s defense, the toughest in the NFL against both scoring and passing. This should be a great game for those who love to see top skill go head-to-head. If the ads are good, you may have a hard time leaving to get your next slice of pizza, at least while Denver has the ball.

Best part of the game. For fans of pure football skill, the best part of the game will be when Denver’s Manning attempts to throw the ball in his record-setting style against Seattle’s top-ranked pass defense. The Seattle defense looks like a blue and grey armored tank division – relentless, formidable, and impenetrable and Manning looks cool, calm, and collected.

Seattle. Seattle’s big weapon is its defense which allowed an average of only 14 points per game in the regular season. But Seattle’s defense will need to play one of its best games to slow down the Bronco’s passing juggernaut. An overpowering front-line performance will help and causing Denver to cough up the ball will also help. Seattle’s defense led the NFL in causing turnovers. With a balanced attack against Denver's mediocre defense, the Seahawks should score around 26 points, their regular season average. Therefore, in order to win, Seattle will need to keep Denver at no more than 24 points, which will be no small task.

Denver. Denver’s scoring offense, mostly passing, has been unstoppable averaging close to 38 points per game this season. But Denver hasn’t met anything like Seattle’s defense. They will need to have one of their better games on offense to beat Seattle. Watch out for turnovers - Seattle’s defense intercepted the most passes this year in the NFL and Manning has thrown his share of interceptions.

Denver’s game plan should emphasize short, precise passes to control the ball and minimize interceptions. Denver’s front line will need to give Manning time to throw and that will be a tall order against those armored Seattle tanks poised to roll, blast, and mash them. Manning will need keep cool in the pocket and under pressure and minimize throwing panic passes. A short-passing game plan will help by cutting the time Manning needs to connect with his receivers. Denver’s weak running game should be used sparingly but enough to allow some effective draw plays and play action passes to back off Seattle’s defensive array. Overall offensive-defensive scoring here favors Denver who should be the victors after the dust settles.

Projected Winner: Denver.

I do not know who will win the game. I am not a psychic. What I do know is that Rush is right. The presstitutes are slobbering and hoping to see a black quarterback be ‘successful’. All of the pre-game shows are fawning over the Seahawks and Wilson with little mention of the Broncos except as the ‘whipping boys’ of the Seahawks. It is disgusting. That is why I stopped watching the pre-game shows and came on to FR.

I will put my money on Peyton Manning today. The Seahawks are a different team outside their home stadium. I don't think they will deny Manning his second ring. I'm not a fan of either team but I like the way Manning plays the game.
