Broncos, 28-21

Broncos 28-27

Due to a Seattle missed extra point -- thus prompting the NFL to withdraw it's plans to drop the PAT to the delight of the NFL Kickers Union.

They sing about all the players, the song is entitled Can’t Hold Beast Mode. “Beast Mode” is a term for a Seahawks running back, Marshawn Lynch. He really gets into the game, many other teams haven’t been able to stop his runs, he’s fearless and very strong, loves Skittles (in fact, he signed a contract with him this week), and his rather shy around people he doesn’t know (see all the media hype on Marshawn not wanting to speak with them this week). He’s a great player, very focussed and we LOVE him here in WA State (aka the other Washington).

“Beast Mode- A state of or doing anything accessively and or aggressively; wildin’ out”

I also enjoy seeing a team win that has never done it before -— both in college and in the pros.

Should they eliminate the PAT? What’s your opinion?

“You do know that Russell Wilson is a conservative Christian, the son of a well-to-do family of class, a Virginia gentleman. He is quite open about his faith in Jesus Christ coming first in his life.”

Yes, I knew all of that. Nowhere in my post did I fault Wilson. My aim was at the presstitutes on TV.

Yes, I know all about “Beast Mode” and Seattle. “Beast Mode” still unapologetically refers to “The Beast” does it not? ;-)

Yes indeed. He’s a young man wise beyond his years. I could see someone like him as President of the United States in 30 years.

Kind of a rare SB game for me in that I like both teams. It’s hard for me to get past Manning’s veteran presence, which can mean everything in the clutch. I like Denver by a field goal.

Thanks onyx!

For those of you who don’t know Russell Wilson (and many may not, since this is only his 2nd season with the pros and Seahawks), he and his wife are christian and do some great things in and outside the Seattle community (and, BTW, he’s not a high-paid QB right now)

In addition to weekly visits to Seattle’s Childrens Hospital (he visits with the families and kids 1:1, no media photo ops), He also has a passing camp for kids - - video here:
http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-super-bowl-features/0ap2000000319956/Russell-Wilson-No-Time-for-Sleep-Episode-1

I’ve read that Richard Sherman and Marshawn Lynch each have their own football camps back in their former hometowns (Compton and Oakland, respectivly) every year for the local kids.

If you haven’t seen this, it’s a great interview with Russell’s grandfather in NC. He won’t be able to attend the game today, due to back issues, but will be watching from NC. Really an amazing and motivated family. I learned a lot I didn’t know, such as Russell’s dad was an attorney and drafted by the Colorado Rockies right before he died. It’s easy to see where he gets his motivation and values!

My screen got a bit misty in reading this.

GO WILSON, BEAST MODE, SHERMAN, AND HAWKS!!!

If that's happening I've not seen it. Seattle is always the underdog on the rare occasions our teams make it this far. This is the best chance a Seahawks team has to make history and reel in the first championship in 35 years.

Good luck to both teams on a clean, well-officiated, and injury-free game.

I heard Roger Goodell this morning talking about the alternative and it would be very interesting:

Touchdowns would be worth 7 points.

Eliminate the kicked PAT entirely to be replaced with run/ pass PAT worth one extra point — giving you then 8 points.

If you try for the PAT and don’t get it, you lose a point and only get 6 points.

So it could be a 2 point turnaround.

The NFL Kickers Union is of course up in arms over this plan :)

“Russell Wilson is a model for all of us who have been told we “can’t” do something because of x.”

I agree. Another Seahawk player that exemplifies that is Derrick Coleman, the only deaf player in the NFL.

Truly a good guy and inspirational story. If any of you haven’t seen it, he did a recent commercial for Duracell. A couple of twin girls who wear hearing aids saw the commercial, wrote him a letter, he responded, and Derrick suprised the girls on GMA last week and gave them SB tickets for their family. Here’s the video:

I was pretty neutral on the situation until DICK Sherman’s insane rant in the face of Erin Andrews a couple weeks ago. ....

GO BRONCOS!!!!!

If that spread to college rules, it would be killing scholarships for small slow white guys.

There are loops of videos of Sherman trash-talking and taunting players on many teams. This isn’t just about a single incident.

come on
