At the top of Thursday's NBC Nightly News, anchor Brian Williams proclaimed that "the [Republican] governor of Georgia [Nathan Deal] chose to fall on his snow shovel" over how Tuesday's rare southern snowstorm "was handled, or better yet, mishandled" in the state. However, the coverage that followed failed to mention Atlanta's Democratic Mayor Kasim Reed by name even once. [Listen to the audio or watch the video after the jump]
In his report, correspondent Tom Costello declared: "A lot of anger directed toward city and state officials for failing to heed the weather forecasts. And today we learned that both the Governor and the director of the emergency services for the state were sleeping as those forecasts grew even more dire." Those "city officials" were not specified.
They they go Katrina-ing again.

Kinda like Benghazi and someone we all know?
Anybody expect anything less? I say, pass it on up the chain of command and point a finger at Obama. I mean, after all, if you are going to pass the buck, pass it all the way to the top.
Democrats, asshole one and all.
That is why NBC is sucking up the rear in the ratings.
Huh. Amazing the power a Republican governor can have when Democrats run cities and school boards/
Now that you mention it...
It's Obama's fault!
That’s because racism caused the gridlock. Duh
What Does Racism Have to Do With Gridlock?
In Atlanta, everything. http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/politics/2014/01/atlanta_s_snow_fiasco_the_real_problem_in_the_south_isn_t_weather_it_s_history.html
If they are going to blame anyone, it should be the entire local NBC NEWS TEAM, and other networks as well.
Did any of them warn the public about this sudden ice problem before it happened ?
Global climate change is the fault of the republican party.
I remember back around Feb of 1969 a major snowstorm hammered NYC. The mishandling of the cleanup severely damaged then mayor John Lindsay’s further political aspirations, though, in all fairness, part of the blame could be placed on an ongoing sanitation strike at the time. In a way this sounds like deja vu all over again.
People in GA complaining about Deal and the snow were already committed to the Democrat candidate, who is ___. Is it the Carter scion?
Selective reporting at NBC ?
No way !
If the media would quit the incessant propaganda about global warming, maybe the mayor would have considered being prepared for the coming storm.
Since when is a freaking governor responsible for snow removal?
Fill in the blank for twenty points: Bush is to Hurricane Katrina as _______ is to Snowstorm Leon......

Whole state of Georgia was hit with an ice storm. Only place that had major problems was a city run by democrats and the media blames republicans. Should we expect anything less from NBC?
