The most influential constituents on both sides have told their pocket politicians to take no action against Iran. The political/regulator class wants to allow Iran to finish building its nuclear weapons forces as it desires. And as such political folks often write, they would like to see a fight between Iran, Iran’s allies and Israel alone.

Our nation’s bipartisan leadership (favored constituents of politicians, sponsors of media,...) is morally bankrupt and has no will to fight for what is right.

War seldom follows the plans of strategists. As soon as Israel attacks sites in Iran the Iranians will retaliate against any U.S. targets within range. This would include U.S. naval vessels in the Persian Gulf and bases in Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, and the Gulf states. The U.S. will be immediately drawn into the conflict. If the Iranians attempt to interdict international shipping through the Strait of Hormuz the world economy will suffer as long as the Strait is blocked. This could draw Europe and the oil producing states around the Persian Gulf region into the fight. What response Russia and China decide to take could make the difference between a regional war and Armageddon.
