Strangling on an escalator seems like a very slow way to die. Once she realized that she was in danger, then why didn’t she just slip it off, tear it off, or cut it off with one of the assorted sharp objects that most women carry in their purses? This story does not make sense, on any level.

She was able to get the scarf pulled out but when she bent over to do so her hair became entangled.

I’m guessing it happened slowly enough that she knew what was happening, but too fast for her to be able to dig through her purse (particularly in a panicked state, and particularly after she got her hair caught). Just terrible.

“...why didn’t she just slip it off, tear it off, or cut it off...”

We had a Somali muzloid intern for a while (I can ASSURE you I didn’t hire her). Once a lock of hair came out of her headscarf and she was paniced/humiliated and made a BIG whiney deal of it. She was alone in her cubicle but we all heard about it...

It is possible the subway woman would rather die than let people - especially infidels - see her hair.
