WASHINGTON The Justice Department wants low-level drug criminals who were sentenced under tough laws from the days of the crack epidemic to ask the president for early release from prison.
In an unprecedented move, Deputy Attorney General James M. Cole asked defense lawyers on Thursday to help the government locate prisoners and encourage them to apply for clemency. The clemency drive is part of the Obama administrations effort to undo a disparity that flooded the nations prison system and disproportionately affected black men.

Turn the convicted drug felons loose from prison and allow the free flow of illegals (and drug cartels) across our borders. What could possibly go wrong.

Not true. Federal guidelines on crack possession used to be harsher than punishment for have a nuke in your possession.
It was 8 years for a nuke, BTW.

In the last couple days, more than thirty (30) head of these “low level” drug dealers were rounded up here in the North Dakota Baaken oil patch. The were peddaling oxy, crack, meth heroin and related hard drugs. About a third of these harmless young people (mostly in mid 30s) were armed. All of the armed ones were convicted felons. Holder wants to let more of them out on the streets. Kind of like emptying Guantanimo, the bandits turn up again in the most interesting places.

If they want to let somebody loose who isn’t going to hurt anybody, whose crime really wasn’t a crime, and doesn’t deserve to be in jail,... how about Lt.Col. Terry Lakin?
