The chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee said the House wont vote on an overhaul of immigration laws for several months.
When you lay out a major policy initiative like immigration, I dont know when its going to appear on the schedule, Rep. Greg Walden (R-Ore.) said to reporters at the partys retreat here. My hunch is it doesnt come up tomorrow. Its probably months out, I dont know. But the point would be most of the primaries wouldve faded by then, anyway. By the time you get to June, most of them are behind you.
House Republicans will hold a private meeting on immigration Thursday here at the Hyatt Regency resort.
So what does that mean? You'll lie to get elected, and THEN stick the knife in our backs? You're only pretend patriots?
If this happens, then we all might as well vote for the democrat come November... At least the dems are honest when they say they're eager to screw us over.
Uh, just after the filing date for primaries?
Walden is squishy in a district increasingly from H1b and Hispanic.
Immigration reform is in trouble. :-)
So he’s telegraphing that once the Primaries are ended then the coast will be clear and Republicans will then vote on immigration. Is that about right?
So, yeah, lie your backside off and then stab us in the back and in the front.
They are waiting for all the GOP primary filing deadlines to pass so the ones not being challenged can vote for it without being challenged.
That is Cokie Roberts theory anyway.
No vote for some months, eh?
As if anyone believes anything coming from the pie holes of any congresscritter of either party.
Go ahead, GOP, make our day. You’re dead meat no matter what you do now. I do not give a smelly Obama about you, your children, your parents, or the horse you rode in on.

Didn’t Rush Limbaugh have a similar theory; that they would until the filing deadlines had passed so that they wouldn’t need to worry about a primary challenger based on a pro-amnesty vote?
I’m pretty sure I read that hear a couple of months ago.
I have a feeling its a case of wish in one hand and spit in the other.
I think there’s a good chance they’ll vote on it, but it won’t be until after the primary season is done.
Then they’ll go for it. For those who get primaried out, what have they got to lose?
If I’m not mistaken, Boehner has already said he’s not seeking the Speakership in the next Congress.
Yeah, but Cantor is going to take his place at the speakership. Cantor is also an amnesty queen.
Cantor really needs a serious challenge in the primaries.
Do it and your little gop party dies on the vine.
Speaker of the House Cantor will make Boner look like Patrick freaking Henry.
