I think you, and a few others, are saying they (dems) are jumping ship before the Democrat ship sinks. If not, please tell me what you mean. I am concerned that the republicans will find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. The democrats are much more adept at vicious politics than the pubes. I know the unaffordable health care act is a disaster of unprecedented proportions made totally by the stupidity of the democrats, but the democrats have moved the country into the age of dependence expectations, the highest level of achievement of mediocrity, and public feeding at the trough of the minority productive apportionment of society. The parasite has fastened hold to the host's bowel and its hooks are set deeply into the bowels. To dislodge the parasite requires a poisonous medication which will make the host sick. The dems do not believe the republicans and the producers of the country can redefine political correctness in a short interim period and then redirect the country to the tracts of increased production, incentive to work, and decent goverence….that is, short of a real and dangerous economic upheaval. Those of us who are producers are deemed politically UNcorrect and are the problem. All one has to do is look at the "conservative" (sarc. republicans) response to the amnesty train barreling down the track. Then have already surrendered. They are saying Obamacare cannot be repealed (I heard McConnel say it just last night). Other than Mike Lee, Cruz, Rand, who has a set of minerals big enough to tell the truth, ….and when they do they are viciously vilified. Sarah Palin, a nice woman with middle American values, has been so viciously attacked that they even went so far as to say her baby should have been aborted……that is to say, her baby should have been killed…..all because Palin has the nerve to tell the truth. The values in the country is up-side-down. Insanity (repeating the same mistake expecting a different result) is now the coin of the realm. Those of us who think it is wrong to kill, steal, lie, offend God,…..we are all considered anachronistic. To say it is immoral to have a man lay down with a man, twenty years ago was the norm….today if you say such a thing you are intolerant ands judgmental……and those things, once you are so judged, will not be tolerated.

So……do you really think Waxman is getting out because decency will reign over immorality? Waxman has spent his life in immorality and sexual perversion. And now, only NOW, he sees a tsunami approaching.

I do not have such optimism, short of divine intervention. Please tell me I am wrong in my assessment. I actually would like to be wrong….but I am not.

A lot of the “long-term” RATs are leaving because they know that in their political lifetimes, they will not be returning to power. And they are allowing the young turks to come in for their next assault wave once the GOPe screws up again, as they always do. Our only “salvation” lies in not only taking RAT seats in The Congress, but also RINOs, because if history is any accurate indicator, the RINOs are only “better” by comparison to the RATs. Just look at how the GOP behaved during the GWB administration. They just settled in and didn’t do anything to “reign in” Bush when he launched these needless wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. If he had really wanted to strike a blow against terror, he would have invaded Saudi Arabia, because that’s where the 911 terrorists came from.
Insofar as Divine Intervention is concerned, you can’t ask God to intervene unless you’ve done all in your power to extricate yourself from whatever problems you are facing. It’s been 50 years since I had any biblical training, but I seem to remember a passage about “people waxing iniquitous.” Well, my friend, that’s where we are today. Why would God help any group of people who are behaving like the bulk of those who currently inhabit America? There is much that we need to do before asking God for help in my view.
All you have to do to understand where we are today, it to spent a few minutes perusing the articles here on FR each day.

“I do not have such optimism, short of divine intervention.”

Same here.

There must be another reason why they’re leaving that may have nothing to do with defeat at the polls. (With more than fourty per-cent support and lots of trunks filled with forgotten ballots, there’s no reason to think they’ll be voted out.)

The game is afoot Watson.

IMHO
