I advised my son against buying a house on the edge of the old map.

As for a “100 year flood plain”, that means there is a 1 in 100 chance it will flood every year. There can be flooding 3 years in a row in a hundred year flood plain.

Uhm, but then, like, won't you be alright for, like, 300 years after that?

I lived there from 1988-98, and they had two 100 year floods.
With Katrina that would be at least three 100 year floods in 20 years.
