Get Ready To See Michelle Obama's Face Plastered All Over Your Local Subway Sandwich Shop
Tea Party Command Center Blog ^ | January 23, 2014 | Linda Hahn

If you thought you could simply enjoy your Subway sandwich without partisan politics, you thought wrong. Michelle Obama’s face is about to invade every one of their restaurants.

The first lady was expected to announce Thursday that the Subway sandwich chain will spend $41 million over three years to encourage finicky young eaters to eat more food that comes out of the ground or grows on trees. The announcement was being made at a Subway shop near the White House.

Subway will only offer a kids’ menu that mirrors federal standards for school lunches. That includes offering apples on the side and low-fat or nonfat plain milk or water as a default beverage. First off, who wants to have the First Lady’s face all over advertisements of a sub shop anyway? Regardless of whether it’s Michelle Obama, Laura or Barbara Bush, it’s a cheesy and questionable advertising strategy in that it is painfully obvious that it will cause at least some level of controversy.

As low as his approval ratings are- most don’t like her either...this seems to be a huge marketing mistake. I think they will find most do not want to be reminded of any of the Obama’s, especially at meal time.

--I stopped eating at Subway a long time ago because I think he’s obnoxious. It’s rare a spokesman can make me so revolted I won’t patronize an establishment.

You must admit that he showed a lot of guts and determination to go from 400+ lbs to a normal weight. He did invent his own diet utilizing Subway sandwiches and was only approached by Subway after the fact, as the contact was not initiated by him.

Every single thing at a Subway restaurant comes to the store pre-packaged. The meat, the veggies, even the lettuce.

“Subway: Eat Fresh” is the single biggest lie out there. The restaurant can’t even go to the store across the street to pick up some tuna if they run out for whatever reason, they are only allowed to use the corporate product.

I also end up with internal distress whenever I eat Subway’s roast beef or their mayonnaise (I’ve tried several different stores, and it has happened EVERY time from EVERY store), so that limits my choices right there

The Safeway deli near my workplace has FAR better subs, and I can pick up whatever other toppings I wish and have them added to my sangie. The price is within a buck or two, and often on the lower side of Subway.

Go to Jimmy Johns. He is a hunter and has progun signs. Subway never smelled right to me. Too pasty.

Indeed. They might as well hire illegals piing on the sub sandwiches for dressing while they are at it. This woman is repulsive.

If rumors are correct, “Brother” might be accurate.

Rumor or not, the VP of Marketing at Subway must be asleep at the wheel. Surely, they have to know that making FWOTUS so prominently-displayed may cause a number of people to stop eating there. It certainly won’t attract at least 50% of the population.

The poor gal just needs a part-time job to tide her over until she can get a ghost writer to do her White House memoirs.

Does the Subway gig include a health care plan?

Not a wise marketing move to alienate the productive segment of the population.
Does Subway accept food stamps?

Subway has started offering Subway gift cards if you say something nice about them partnering with MO.

I am not surprised - knew something afoot (no pun intended).
