The question then becomes what limits the powers of the state? Is it the state constitution that enumerates and therefore limited the powers of government?
I have no desire to trade a federal tyranny for a state tyranny.
This, like many issues of the day, is best solved by the individual and not some member of the new royalty (by that I mean government, either State or Federal).
the Constitutional issue is only part of the puzzle. I thonk the states’ powers are limited by their own constitutions, as well as an limitations imposed by the US Constitution. What the states should do within their constitutional powers is up to the elected officials, courts, and voters of the states, and their municipalities, or that’s the way it should be, if anyone paid any attention the constitutions.
