There is an old science fiction story that matches with this equal outcomes crap. I don’t recall its title right now, but it includes the enforced wearing of handicaps to assure that each person is equally nearsighted, equally clumsy or equally not able to concentrate, for instance. It also includes a government of enforcers to assure that all comply with equality edicts.
If I’m not mistaken, that’s “Harrison Bergeron” by, I believe, Heinlein. Someone will be along shortly to correct me if I’m wrong.
