....The 56th Grammy Awards were held last night, and while there were no twerking incidents to stir controversy, a planned marriage ceremony for 34 gay and straight couples officiated by Queen Latifah in the middle of the rap by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis about marriage equality (with a cameo by Madonna) had people talking.
"It was a brave move by the rap duo who are just experiencing their first flush of fame, but it showed the Seattle based duo are serious about using their profile to push a progressive message," writes the New York Post's Hardeep Phull. "It's something that pop stars seldom do for fear of losing fans, but Macklemore & Ryan Lewis showed that they have guts as well as talent.".....
Reaction to the performance wasn't universally positive, however, with criticism coming from several directions.
The conservative Media Research Center's Tim Graham took offense at the social criticism in Macklemore's rap, calling it "a piece of musical agitprop to mock the traditional values of conservative American Christians, Jews, Muslims, and others. Entertainers never want to have a debate, just a series of arrogant 'statements' with no opportunity for a conversation as they flush the Bible on national TV."
Others wondered about the self-consciousness in the lyrics of Macklemore's rap, Same Love.
"For a pro gay song, this sure does feature a lot of Macklemore clarifying that he's straight," tweeted Ronan Farrow.

Kelly Ripa is a tool of cultural decline. I wish Regis had stayed and she had been fired.
If the acts were actually cool and not complete stiffs it would make up for a lot of that crap in my book. On the other hand cool acts probably wouldn’t indulge to this degree anyhow. I guess my point is that it is hard to be incensed over anything they do when the product itself is complete dog squeeze, and would still be so even if they were just sitting on stools in their Sunday best.
Johnny Cash has 19. He won them from 1968 to 2008.
Bob Dylan has 11. He won them from 1973 to 2010.
Led Zeppelin has 4. All Grammy hall of Fame, whatever the hell that is.
Kanye West has won 21 Grammys by 36 years old.
I mean come on. That’s why I just can’t see any guy voluntarily watching this garbage. I guess I don’t know what to think of the general predilections of folks who do actually subject themselves to it, besides ‘yeeeeeeesh.’

One person was stunned writing...."The first two minutes; Beyonce treated viewers to a whorish stripper-like chair dance and was muted when she cussed her lyrics out... Again, that was just two minutes in"
And just reminding folks what Obama had to say about Beyonce' as follows:
..."Beyoncé could not be a better role model for my girls because she carries herself with such class and poise and has so much talent."...'Barack Oboma'
As to the general theme of the Grammy's this was an interesting aobservation....AJ MCCARRON stated.... .......'REALLY DEMONIC' PERFORMANCES AT GRAMMYS SHOW 'THERE'S A LOT OF EVIL IN THE WORLD' (On Bretibart)
And here's the man responsible for producing this entire production....Grammy Producer Ken Ehrlich:
Why watch the sewer, I don’t get it!
I’m with you. The Grammys represents the absolute worst in music... All the commercialism and drama and none of the spirituality. I’ve been a working musician since 1979 and I never watched them once.
I wonder what the female/male viewing split is for the Grammys. I reckon I don’t know any guys that are chomping at the bit to sit down and subject themselves to this complete hot garbage. It would have to be something like Malcolm McDowell being strapped down and having his eyelids held open with clamps in Clockwork Orange.

bttt
Regis was the show.
He wanted more money and the owners wanted to pay less. He left. Now doing a sports interview show.
Oh, how we dwell on the fiction of “gay” “marriage”.
I love movies and will tolerate all sorts of things but the only movie I could not finish was “A Clockwork Orange”.
.
How about a Grammy awards show?

“How about a Grammy awards show?”

I’m proud to say I have not watched any awards show in about 30 years.
I do read the results though. :-)
