Of course Monica was asking for it. That’s entirely beside the point. The issue was the extreme “power imbalance”. If Clinton had been (say) a community college instructor, and Lewinsky a student; he would have lost his job (and might even face criminal charges). It’s all about the “power imbalance” — making it a form of white-collar rape. Meanwhile, Clinton was the most powerful man in the world, and Lewinsky was an unpaid intern. There could not possibly be a greater power difference; and the onus was on Clinton to avoid improprieties — no matter what Lewinsky was “asking for”.

All that "power imbalance" stuff only kicks in when it's someone the Left doesn't happen to like that's in the crosshairs.
