I feel zero shame about going to the local veggie farm and stand and rooting through their bruised or imperfect produce that is going to feed his hogs. I stand right there next to the hog pen and salvage what I can while tossing the true trash to the piggies. I walk away with bushels of tomatoes, peppers, broccoli etc. I bring it home and cut out the bad parts and can, dry, or freeze the good stuff.
