When asked about the poor economic conditions in America ahead of the Presidents State of the Union speech, Senior White House Advisor, Dan Pfeiffer, petulantly passed the buck to George W. Bush. The comedic excuse is as pathetic as it is baseless. But dont let that stop the White House from trying to cast blame for todays economic failures on an economic crises that came to life in the closing days of their predecessors administration.
On Fox News Sunday, Pfeiffer explained to Anchor Chris Wallace that the reason for Americas weak economic recovery was because of the damage done under Bush:
Pfeiffer Blames Financial Crisis, Again, for Poor Obama Economy
Its important to remember that this President inherited the worst economic situation since the Great Depression.
Pfeiffer then went on to champion the great progress that has been made under Obamas stewardship. He explained that eight million jobs were created in the last 4-6 months (failing to mention that many of those are part time positions thanks to Obamacare), and that the unemployment rate has been dropping (to roughly what it was right before Team Obama inherited the worst economic situation since the Great Depression).
Wallace responded brilliantly by asking why, if everything is so good, is everything so bad? The truth is, there is no mainstream recovery. I mean, heck The real problem seems to be that Obama inherited an economic mess when he was sworn in for his second term.Labor force participation is at its lowest levels in three and a half decades. Poverty has increased from 6.7 million people, to over 46 million people. We have a record number of people on food stamps, disability insurance, and various government assistance programs. Household income, and household wealth, have both declined throughout the so-called recovery. These are not indications of a vibrant and prosperous economy.
Of course GW wasnt the only guy Pfeiffer blamed for the poor performance of Obamanomics. Republicans in Congress also received a few passed bucks from the White House. Pfeiffer went on to explain the Presidents intent to circumvent Congress when possible Because, its pretty obvious that obtaining consent from the representatives of the governed is holding back American progress. (Can someone work on inventing a sarcasm font? I really need one.)
Which brings up another quick example of Obamas aversion to leadership: Does anyone else find it strange that the Obama Administration seems less willing to compromise with Republicans than rogue states such as Iran? Maybe Obama should send John Kerry in to negotiate a deal with the GOP Republicans would probably end up coming out ahead.
One would think that this far into Obamas second term, the excuses would at least get more creative. Since Bush left office, the President enjoyed two years of a Democrat congress and large policy concessions from the other side of the isle. Remember that trillion dollar recovery package? Remember Obamacare? Remember unemployment flirting with tragically high levels? Even in recent years the President has gotten significant white-flags from the Republican establishment. Taxes have gone up. Sequestration was blunted. Spending has increased.
In fact, the only real legitimate complaint the President could levy at congress would be that they arent stampeding to the left quite as fast as he would like. Welcome to representative government, Mr. President. (Is that also Bushs fault?)
Pfeiffers comments illustrate an amazing collapse of competent politicking with Team Obama. The State of the Union will prove to be a divisive and partisan speech that casts blame, bullies the opposition, and substitutes leadership with petulance. The buck, as we learned from Dan Pfeiffer over the weekend, does not stop at President Obamas desk
Apparently it stops in John Boehners office, or on some ranch near Crawford, Texas.
Great question by Chris Wallace.
Obama and Dems are trashing their own economy while Obama admin praises it.
Obama may be really complaining that he was not able to smash up more of the economy because of Bush, which was actually the lasting hold of the Reagan years.
He’s a whining, pathetic loser who takes responsibility for NOTHING.
Period.
.
As long as polling continues to show most people buying it, why would they stop?
I can’t wait to see the Republicans falling all over themselves to jump to their feet and applaud wildly at Obama’s every utterance.
I blame the Panic of 1857.
LOL! The lib left continues to lay all the TARP debt on Bush deficit that Barry “inherited”, even though they were strong arming Bush to sign for all $800 Billion before obama took office
and Pelosi et al strong arming BUSH to approve using TARP to bail out GM-
Now TARP has been repaid - with interest - but the dems still claim Bush ran up a $1.3 trillion deficit, $800 Billion in his last 60 days of office
what lil Barry “inherited” was an $800 Billion slush fund PLUS another giant porkulous ($750 Billion?) pushed through by the petulant “I Won”
Careful there Wallace, you racist. Legitimate questions are out of bounds.
If that’s true, B-HO, then what the hell did/does anybody need YOU for?? Think about that,
B-HO!

Lemme guess. Jeb Bush. lol What a bunch of idiots.
The only real solution is for the government to start giving away massive amounts of “stimulus’ money to the poor, the uneducated, failing businesses, terroristic foreign governments...
This always worked in the past, right?
The media is not reporting there is a bad economy, so there isn’t one.
Now I know why Pfeiffer will join Valerie to be the last of the White House Staff still around to turn out the lights when Obama’s term is up. He’s too stupid to find another job. I can’t believe they are still using that blame Bush line. But then again, maybe that’s all they can think of.
Remember the economy was thriving and unemployment was practically nonexistent (4.4% in 2006).
Things changed for the worst when the rats took over both Houses in January of 2007 and these are facts.
When will some bold “journalist” ask The Won: “Exactly when will you take responsibility for your own Presidency?”
I hadn’t planned on watching but maybe I should with the mute button on or the sound off, (I can’t stand the sound of his voice) just to see if you are right.
