This incident was when I had my eyes open to the fact that no one on the base was armed and could stop the guy.
I’ve never been in the service—but this makes absolutely no sense to me! Our guys were left defenseless—like sitting ducks.
At the very least, I assumed the the base police would be armed. It was a real shocker for me-—and Fort Hood is not very far from my home—and very close to our “ranch” property.
