As violent scenes play out on the streets of Kiev, we look at the major role extremist right-wing movements have played in Ukraine's "pro-democracy" movement.
Ukraine's far-right is gaining support and confidence through its role in the street protests, with the Svoboda party assuming a leading role in the movement and paramilitary groups leading the street fighting.
In December US senator John McCain travelled to Ukraine to offer his support to the opposition, appearing on stage with leaders of the three opposition parties leading the protests - including the far-right Svoboda party.
Svoboda is currently Ukraine's fourth biggest party and holds 36 seats in parliament. It is also part of the Alliance of European National Movements, along with the BNP and Hungary's Jobbik.
Svoboda leader Oleh Tyahnybok is one of the faces of the protests, appearing regularly along with opposition leader and former boxer Vitali Klitschko (see picture right) voicing opposition to Putin's influence over the region.
However, Tyahnybok has provoked controversy in the past with his anti-Semitic claims that a "Moscow-Jewish mafia" controls Ukraine.

McCain was in Ukraine....a few days ago he was in Davos chatting with his buddy George Soros...the big backer of the Ukraine_EU folks
Amazing that I get criticized on a “Conservative” website for pointing out that the so-called opposition is being funded by the biggest Statist Communist on the planet...and Hanoi John McCain is siding with the Soros side
Wonder if any of the McCain supporter Ukrainians have filmed themselves eating an enemy and showed it on YouTube? Like the Syrian guys McCain is backing
Good grief!
“Nazi” and “anti-semitic” to resonate in the U.S., or it’s not news. In fact, those guys are nationalist, whether mild or ultra, I dunno.
Nazis are not “far right”....Nazi means “National Socialist”.....

In fact it is that exact propaganda Nazy used to mobilize Ukrainians into rounding up Jews and the remnants of Soviet troops still fighting behind enemy lines.
If you are to research more carefully, it made a lot of Goebbel’s points in rationale for invading a Soviet Union.
Following their propaganda, Communism was a tool of Jewish bankers from US and Britain, used to mobilize primitive people into fight against Western civilization.
Soviet Union was a Jewish establishment, featuring Jewish elites suppressing “untermenshen” to build a power base for future expansion. Operation Barbarossa was a preemptive strike against “Judeo-Bolschevisten hordes” by their book.
Meanwhile, Stalin hated Jews as much as Hitler did. The difference was Stalin knew he could use them as a tool.
Well, Stalin’s antisemitism has probably developed in late 1940s.
Before 1948 he was a strong supporter of Zionism.
It is believed he has pushed Israel down the throats of both FDR and Churchill.
Churchill was a strong antagonist of Israel because it was a hit on British influence over Arabs, FDR didn’t care much, but backed Churchill simply because he liked him more.
At the end NYC and Hollywood Jewish lobby combined their efforts with Stalin and FDR has caved.
Stalin dreamed to see Israel a communist state, it was also a part of Churchill’s rationale against Israel.
Jews and Israel hasn’t made Stalin’s dreams come true very early and it is probably a reason of his purge on everything Jewish.
KGB, Air Force officers, assisting in creation of Mossad and Israel’s armed forces, Czech government officials including president, used by KGB to run confiscated Nazy weapons into Israel were either shot or imprisoned.
Again, Stalin used Jews when it was to his advantage.
But his anti-semitism was deeply rooted in his Georgian upbringing as well.

I haven’t looked into his soul that deeply. At least he hasn’t shown his antisemitism until late 1940s.
BTW, he made amendment to a Soviet Criminal Code in the 1930s, making antisemitism a capital crime. You could have been sent to gulag for years for a slight antisemitic slur at the time. His politburo was predominately Jewish, too.
