it seems there was a taboo on morphine treatments for pain in past years and maybe it was because of abuse
do you know what i am talking about it seems there was a huge debate about (20) + - years ago about pain management and the refusal of health providers to apply necessary medications for such
and anyone who says morphine doesn’t help ha ha ha
neither does the methadone

You are correct about the reluctance to prescribe morphine for cancer patients at least 25 yrs ago when my mother was dying of cancer. I could not get the hospital to release her morphine prescription for me to take home for her. If she had been left in the hospital to die they would have administered it but the fear apparently was that those treating her at home might be users or dealers. Nothing is simple with medical care either in or out of the hospital so all of us need to be constantly aware of changes and regulations ahead of our needs.
And morphine does help in obliterating pain. Maybe Obamacare will just turn seniors into druggies and zombies with an overdose when their death panel designated time is up. Seniors who voted for and support Obamacare are signing their own death warrants. Just so they know and are ready to go.

Well, my husband passed in 2010. His cancer WAS terminal and there WAS nothing else anyone could do but keep him comfortable with morphine.
He didn't live more than a few months but, at least, those last months were pain free. I can remember him walking into the house saying, after his first dose of morphine: "The pain is gone."
