Dwayne Stovall, a Tea Party candidate challenging Senator John Cornyn for his seat in the United States Senate, has brought the controversial aspects of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) into the primary race.
Stovall is not alone in challenging Senator Cornyn in the primary; U.S. Rep. Steve Stockman is also in the primary, but his chances have been severely damaged by the candidate's decision to remain quiet in light of numerous ethics and financial questions.
Breitbart News has provided our readers with the first look into the Stovall campaign press release, sent to us on January 25, 2014.
The headline invoked Stovall’s shared stance with U.S. Senator Ted Cruz against the fast-tracking of the NDAA vote. It asserted, “Dwayne Stovall Opposes John Cornyn and Stands with Ted Cruz Against Fast-Tracked NDAA Vote.”
Tea Party-endorsed candidate for U.S. Senate, Dwayne Stovall, vigorously opposes the NDAA legislation recently fast-tracked through the Senate and passed with Sen. John Cornyn's approval. The 493-page legislation embodies much of what is wrong with the federal government and highlights the reason that John Cornyn frequently gets it wrong for Texas.
In a statement, Stovall said:
Why is it in the best interest of Texas to hand more power to an administration already hostile to conservatives? When the IRS is used to target Texas conservatives, as Sen. Cornyn well knows because he sits on the IRS oversight committee, there is no reason to hand this administration more ability to target patriotic, law-abiding Texans. Prior to his vote to pass the NDAA, Sen. Cornyn voted that he didn't want debate to end, but that effort failed. Rather than continue to oppose a bill that he felt needed more debate as Sen. Cruz did, Sen. Cornyn voted for this very bill, which greatly expanded government powers...

I appears to me that DWAYNE STOVALL is emerging to be the right guy to replace the light-weight John McCornyn as Senator froom the Lone Star State. I have the impression that Mr. STOVALL will be a great partner and colleague for TED CRUZ.
Love everything I hear about Stovall. I have been following him on facebook for several months.
The article strangely does not mention the worst part of this act: unlimited detention of American citizens with no due process.
I met him at the Ted Cruz rally in Arlington a few months ago. He is at least saying the right things, and working hard across the state.

What about Stockman? Where do he and Stovall differ?
The more that I learn about the man, the more I like him. He IS Texas!
For some reason, I get the distinct feeling that Stockman just in’t all that serious about unseating Cornyn. He sure is not taking the fight to him like I expected that he would.
STOVALL, on the other hand comes across like he is dead serious in wanting to take the Oath of Office and then live up to that Oath. I find him to be very impressive....along the same line as TED CRUZ.

I have not heard enough from or about either Stockman or Stovall, but — at this time — either appears to be an improvement over the incumbent.
Currently, I am planning to vote for Stovall, but — I have to admit — I need to take another look at Stovall.

I am with you on this. One thing that is 100% certain, Cornyn has proven himself to be unworthy and unfit to have another term as our Senator. He has continually said one thing while acting in another manner. He really has become an insider to the Senate GOP Establishment while telling us that he truly is one of us. The way that he continually put a knife in the backs of TED CRUZ, MIKE LEE, RAND PAUL and Conservatives in general is beyond any level of tolerance that I will extend.
I’m definitely taking a hard and serious look at DWAYNE STOVALL, but I admit to being impressed already.

But voters haven’t heard about me.
If they don’t hear about my perfect conservative record, and Cornyn’s history of backstabbing and scheming against you, he’ll prance back into the Senate to keep funding Obamacare.
His campaign is in full panic mode. He can’t even top 50 percent after 22 years and tens of millions spent.
