Police: Several Injured After Shooting In Columbia Mall (Howard County, MD)

Several people have been injured after a shooting at the Columbia Mall.

The exact number of injured people or extent of their injuries isn’t known.

“A large amount of ammunition was found near the body, leading investigators to suspect that he might be carrying explosives.”

There was a rumor a little while ago that the REAL shooter dumped his gun and ammo near the last victim. They were saying it didn't make sense for the shooter to empty his pockets of ammo before killing himself. The LEOs also, for some reason, are checking for a bomb.

I'm sure the simplest explanation is what really happened, but a conspiracy theory is hard to pass up.

Kolumbia started in 1967. It is all planned.

What you did was ride down infamous Rte US 1. Which is still mostly trailer trash but just a few miles from Columbia.

The ‘faux pas’ was made after Garrett had completed a broken field run ....

Probably just cruising. Lots of teeny-boppers just cruise the malls, thinking it’s the cool thing to do.

I live in Howard County and patronize the Columbia Mall on occasion. In general, the thug ratio is much lower there than in a lot of other malls. (At least during the daytime; Friday and Saturday nights have a somewhat different vibe.) There are pockets of undesirable areas in this county (mainly some of the Village Centers in Columbia, and the Laurel and Jessup areas along U.S. 1), but for the most part, this is a safe, pleasant place to live.

I don't know what to make of this shooting. If it was a domestic thing, then why the reports of the gunman shooting down into the Food Court? But if it was an intended mass killing, then why did the gunman stop after only two victims?

I have to admit, this one hits pretty close to home. I've been at that Mall plenty of times; I've eaten quite a few meals at that Food Court. It could have easily been me and my family running for our lives from in there. Prayers for the victims.

Where they were is where I take my young son all the time for haircuts. Not to mention the merry go round. Last time was after New Years. We only live 10 min away and my parents are right north off 29.

There are plenty of bad areas in KOLUMBIA, but the diversity-lovers are constantly in denial. All Kolumbia except the section I grew up in has section 8 as well as town homes and all in between. Guess where all the bad stuff happens?
