Who told you Russians are Christians? quickly looking at Wiki - less than half identify themselves as Christians. I suspect (forgive me, my statistic) two thirds of that number are Christians on paper only and haven’t been to a church in years.
Second point relates to the Christian values, I guarantee that they are not compatible with yours. The head of the official church and the priests are unchanged from the USSR days. You remember those days when a “priest” had a KGB call sign and made regular reports? This current patriarch was known as “Mikhailov”. The church is nothing but a tool to implement Kremlin propaganda. They are hateful towards other nationalities and other Christian denominations. Protestants, Catholics etc. - they don’t differentiate - they’re all labelled as “schismatics” and are a competitive threat on what they see as their rightful flock.
Back to the civilization values, would you at least agree that Europe and US are part of the Western civilization, civilization which Russia has never really been a part of?
I wouldn't describe modern Europe as evidencing 'Western Civilization'. It's a blend of secular humanism and Islamic militancy. And much of the US isn't far behind.
I would agree that the Eastern church evidences significant errors in theology, but can you say that it is really worse than mainstream protestantism in the US, or the social justice/liberation theology now emerging from the Vatican?
