By FOX NEWS - The State Department is telling American athletes competing in the upcoming Sochi Winter Olympics to avoid wearing team gear outside the games' venues amid growing concerns over terrorist threats in the Russian resort town, The Wall Street Journal reported.

I worked for decades in the international environment and you could almost always tell by looks alone if a person was an American or European. Heck, usually it was the Americans’ that were the only people on the street without a piece of Americana labeling on their clothes.

The loud and swaggering on the street are usually German or Brits on holiday. Americans are most usually low key, on holiday or business.

I had friends who were supposed to be in the 1980 Summer Olympics until idiot Carter decided to boycott them.

It defines their life. I always hear them introduced as ‘The XXXX Brothers, they were in the 1980 Olympics but they couldn’t go’.
