Ah, isn't there a "Statute of Limitations" in effect in NY State for this crime?

By my memory (by watching Goodfellas) the Lufthansa Heist did not directly involve murder, arson, kidnapping, etc., which are the typical crimes that fall outside of such time limits.

Are you assuming we still have laws?

In all seriousness, I had the same thought.

Probably so if it were just a robbery. However, with murder involved in its cover-up, I am guessing that nullifies the statute of limitations on all aspects of the robbery as the murder and the robbery can be definitely linked and there is no statute of limitations on murder.

They suspect one of the guys arrested was involved in the heist, but they are not arresting him for that crime. They arrested him for an unrelated murder, after they found the body of the victim in Jimmy Burke’s basement (”Jimmy Conway” from Goodfellas).
