Less than a week after the Golden Globe awards, the 2014 Oscar nominations were announced Thursday. Lone Survivor, a favorite among Blaze readers, scored two nominations, but probably for categories you wouldnt expect.
The film covering the true story of a SEAL team mission in Afghanistan in 2005 was not nominated for Best Picture. Mark Walberg, who stars as Marcus Luttrell off whose memoir the film is based, did not get a Best Actor nomination.

Rather than going to Beck’s link, I would rather someone just post what the two categories are.
Sound categories
Book was way better than the movie. I am glad they made the movie, as it will make more people aware of the sacrifices our troops are making in Afghanistan. But there were too many liberties taken in the screenplay, IMHO.
Thanks, going to the Blaze for a punch line 10 times a day was getting annoying.
We loved the movie, but they really went Hollywood on the ending.
I haven’t seen the movie yet, but will. I can’t even imagine Mark Walburg getting an Oscar nomination. However, even if he was considered, this year was way too competitive. Plus they waited too long to release the movie if they wanted to have any possibility of getting the major Oscar awards. And don’t say anything about liberals not nominating a movie like this. They did recently with Zero Dark Thirty.
Review some of the dregs that have been nominated and compare the body of work to Mark’s. Mark is a fine actor, good Christian family man and many that win oscars do so because they vote the right way, give money to the right people and promote the right causes... of course they are all the wrong things for America but what the heck... hollyweird.
compare the body of work to Marks. Mark is a fine actor, good Christian family man
I have to admit that I found “Ted” hilarious but I would not consider that anything of the above that you mentioned.
The guy has been in a ton of movies, some very good and most very entertaining. He is no airhead like sean penn or george looney. I like the guy and he is an excellent actor.
Here is a list of most of his work.
