And, in the case of a friend in Australia, when he went to the pool behind his house there last summer, he found a large Krait snake swimming in his pool. It got in it somehow and couldn’t get out.

How in the heck did a krait get in there? I didn’t think that was one of Australia’s native snakes. I thought that was an Indian/African snake.

That’s why I worry about people importing exotic hot snakes to the US. What if one escaped and was pregnant, or gravid, or whatever snakes get?What if it happened in, say, Florida, where the weather wouldn’t necessarily kill it? The escaped and released constrictors are doing just great in the Everglades, they’ve adapted just fine and are feasting on the local wildlife.
