The Pentagon on Wednesday relaxed its rules governing the religious apparel and facial hair that troops can wear or maintain while in uniform, permitting in some cases tattoos, body piercings and other religious items.
The Defense Department issued the changes via a directive Wednesday afternoon. As part of the military's changing approach to making religious accommodations, the new policy will allow service members to sport different kinds of religious garb and hairstyles so long as they don't have an "adverse effect on military readiness, mission accomplishment, unit cohesion, and good order and discipline."
The changes create several new categories, besides clothing, of religion-based features that can be displayed by troops. These now include facial hair, such as beards, and religious tattoos and piercings.
Immediate commanders will be allowed to grant accommodations to service members in some cases; in others, these items will have to be approved at a higher level.

Patriots should still be joining the military and not be discouraged if they want to. Why roll over and let the military be entirely handpicked? Why not try to dilute it with those who still want to serve America as it was founded? To be sure though, there may simply not be nearly enough of them out there to fill the military ranks at all.
That is true and it would not be fair to lump them in with Muslims if this applies to them, and besides, Sikhs do not have the entitlement mentality of committed Muslims, they would not be looking to force there way into jobs where standards would have to be lowered to accommodate them.
This might be just me, but I don’t have any issue with reasonable accommodations for Jews, Catholics, Muslims, Evangelical Christians, Wiccans/Pagans, Sikhs, Hindus, Buddhists, Baptists and other religious groups so long as it does not lead to members of these groups forcing military positions to lower the standards and let people get away with being less proficient at their jobs. Now to be sure, this is in theory of course, in practice, certain groups will most likely be demanding that standards be lowered so they can be included no matter how much it damages the military.
Honestly, when it comes to policies toward any religious or special interest group, I don’t see why we don’t just let the military themselves vote on it and be done with it.

Yup, You got it. The dumbass with the fuzzy face is the first one done for when the mask is needed. And he’ll have fun in the gas tent. For my own part if the gas don’t get fuzz-boy I probly will because you have to know you can’t count on a person who is wrapped up in his own personal style/fad/ habit / etc. instead of the mission at hand. Clean it up. Button it down. Get your head on a swivel. And don’t stink with your own personal brand of fleur-de-stinkum so’s the neighbors don’t smell us coming. I hope there’s still a couple people left in the Pentagon who understand the reasons for sanitation, etc.

My guess is the blow back from queering up the services and little Barry Soetoro’s wrecking of the current troops morale, not to mention the fact that the nation’s morale in the tank, which has the Recruiting Command up against the wall. They aren’t making their quotas. Plus, the enemies that are behind the Pentagon’s gate; muslims, pc police, fags, demonrats, femi-nazis. etc., are steering the military straight into the ground.

Ferocious fighters for sure, and an exception for them as they fight hard for us. . .muslimes? Not so much. For them it is all about changing us to accommodate them. Supposedly in the koran there is no requirement to wear a beard so any muslime doing so is only doing it to “prove” his pious nature and force us to accommodate him.
Yup. . let him go out at night, alone, and when he comes back in the morning, “don’t ask don’t tell” takes on a whole new meaning.
Actually, it probably doesn’t: gas masks are now part of full-body CBW suits, since a gas mask alone is useless against most modern chemical agents.
