1. Not all Hispanic men tend to get very jealous very quick. My father was one, as were his four brothers. I have a ton of Mexican cousins and they aren't all that way. One cousin was a priest even. You paint a pretty wide swath of with your stereotyping. Hispanic men grow up at 14 or 40...and that is due to their upbringing. MOST children are brought up by MAMA for the first few years, where children LEARN their behavior and attitudes.
2. Any man, Hispanic or not, who had that attitude you wrote about, is a jerk and an a-hole. Prison is FULL of men of many races and religions who broke the law. Jealousy doesn't happen by race, creed or national origin. It USUALLY starts with a mama who spoils her son, with PAPA allowing it, or ignoring it. And a fatherless boy or girl has the WORST problems.
3. From what I read prisons are FULL of fatherless men. THAT is half the mother's fault, I believe. Fatherless children are SO OFTEN doomed to fail. Dads are the hammer; always have been, especially for 12+ children. They teach sons to deal with adult male authority. It's especially important for black dads to teach their sons how to deal with adult male WHITE authority. That's so often the clue as to why so many black men end up in prison.
Those numbers aren't quite as bad for Hispanic men...depending how many boys were fatherless.
1. Education
2. Job
3. Marriage
4. Children
That OUGHT to be the order of events, shouldn't it? If that order isn't followed it's a predictor for trouble for ALL children, despite jealousy.
I appreciate your thoughts. Yes, I should have not implied “all” Hispanic men. But, let me put it this way, in my opinion, Hispanic men, generally speaking, are more protective and possessive of their women.
On the importance of fathers I agree with you totally!!
