Dear Friend,
As our campaign has gained momentum, our opponents have gotten more and more desperate. But now theyve stooped to a new low by attacking my family, my education, and my personal story playing politics with the journey that has been my life.
Mine is a story about a teenage single mother who struggled to keep her young family afloat. Its a story about a young woman who was given a precious opportunity to work her way up in the world. Its a story about resiliency, and sacrifice, and perseverance.
And youre damn right its a true story.

I’m not sure why this is being fought at time. Normally things like this
would be discussed in the last two months or so before the general election.
Heck the primay hasn’t been held yet. It maybe that Davis is pushing this
out now so it can be claimed to be old news and not campaign worthy
come the general.

However, people around here keep harping on the 19 vs 21 thing. Because it's a lie. She keeps claiming she was a 'teenage' single mother (as if it gives her a higher rating on some kind of martyr scale).
-------
It's a lot like the media claiming a huge number of 'children' are killed by guns, when what really happens is 14 to 19 year old gang-bangers blow each other away.
Hope that helps. :-)

what is it with women and their journeys...?My Mom, who is even more conservative than me, would say, "So get there, already. And quit yapping about it!!"

Contrast that with a certain northern lady governor.... Maggie Hassan, New Hampshire?

Wendy Davis: "Mine is a story about a teenage single mother who struggled to keep her young family afloat. Its a story about a young woman who was given a precious opportunity to work her way up in the world. Its a story about resiliency, and sacrifice, and perseverance."
It also appears to be a story of drug and alcohol abuse, undisguised prostitution and just plain bad parenting on her part. All of which leaves aside the fact that we have yet another utterly mediocre intellectual quantity waving their Harvard Law sheepskin at us as if it were some academic talisman, looking for a cozy government billet.
If we are to be completely honest about the matter.

Can anyone explain to me why it makes a difference on whether she was 19 or 21? She's claiming to be a poor unmarried teenager living in a trailer park. She's playing the "victim" card and the "me too" card.
She had to pay child support to her ex-husband. Was she ever a deadbeat mom?

"......the journey that has been my life." ...reminds me of the fuzzy minded female converts to the Church, who are forever moralizing about their journey to Christ...what is it with women and their journeys...?
Leftwingers love telling others about "the struggle".
That was the pitch for supporting the palestinian war on Israel. That was the pitch for supporting Communists against private industry. That was Hitler's pitch too.

She's part of a nationally funded effort to turn Texas into a Democrat run state.

It’s a mistake to dismiss her chances; there are millions of liberals in Texas waiting to back her no matter what.
