I was planning on doing a Hall of Fame tour this summer (visiting the Pro Football, Rock and Roll, Baseball, and Basketball Hall of Fames, all during one week since they’re virtually all along the same stretch). Wondering if I should skip Cooperstown so I wouldn’t have to spend money in Cuomo’s kingdom.

I’d bet this will hurt New York with tourism this Spring and Summer and many New Yorkers have to be really ticked.

I live 25 miles north of Cooperstown. It is a quaint little village in upstate NY, lots of things to see, Hall of Fame, small shops, great restaurants and fine beer. Don’t let the Governor scare you away. Upstate NY is not like down state.

You could go to the Basketball Hall of Fame third and then finish up with Cooperstown. On your way to Springfield, MA and Cooperstown you can take the shortest routes possible through NY and spend no money on gas/food/lodging/etc.

The only money you would spend in NY would be any entrance fee there might be to Cooperstown. And if you can somehow snag free tickets, then you could see it without spending any money and leaving only a bit of tire rubber on their hole-ier than thou roads.

Extend your trip a little farther west and go to the Air Force Museum in Dayton. I’ve been several times and it is fantastic.

“...wondering if I should skip Cooperstown...”

My daughter is an ER nurse in the Emergency room at the hospital in Cooperstown. The entire area is very beautiful and worth the trip. I understand your sentiments to possibly skip the area; however, many decent and conservative people live around there too. Cooperstown itself has a greater concentration of transplanted NYC liberal anti fracking types than the surrounding countryside people who tend to be gun owners, however, the economy is struggling due to Cuomo’s anti fracking stance.

Of course I do not want to interfere with your decision making process, however, by punishing Cuomo, conservatives get caught in the struggle. Theoretically one could move, however they have a milking operation that they have been trying to build up, and her husband’s family has lived there for generations - easier said than done.

Having said that - I absolutely loathe Cuomo so support any anti Cuomo efforts in general.
