Texas gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis is under fire for apparently misstating facts about her life story, with a Republican opponent claiming the discrepancies raise questions about her honesty.
Davis, a Democratic state senator who rose to prominence last year after delivering a lengthy filibuster against abortion restrictions, was the subject of a Dallas Morning News piece on Sunday that took issue with several details in her personal narrative.

I knew an elderly man who raised cattle all his life and didn't eat beef... everybody in our small town knew it.
When he ordered a hamburger in a local café the waitress said, "You don't eat beef."
He said, "I didn't order a beef burger, I ordered a ham burger." So...
They fried a piece of ham and put it on a hamburger bun and made him a hamburger. He was happy.
Small town when people knew and took care of each other... it really happened.
Shelly “Lee” Leffingwell is an American politician and the current mayor of Austin. Yup, that is his name. He has a girl’s first name, but goes by Lee.
There was a transgender ex marine Jennifer Gale that actually got a lot of votes several years ago. Note that I did not call him / her / it / a former Marine.
