Back when cops actually could get away with beating up criminals, they didn’t get away with beating up regular Americans.

Back then cops were PEACE OFFICERS. They didn’t swagger around in paramilitary garb and use military weaponry against civilians. It was a different world. I knew. I was alive back then.
