I’d like Kristinn on board this thing....He’s got track-record....
Kristinn it was my job to reach out to you prior to publishing on FR.
I read Jim believes this should be more a "movement" rather than a single march or location. I do not disagree, I'd like to share the vision I had while Laz, I and others started our work several weeks ago.
I used the term "American Spring" in our discussions back then deliberately, and pointed to Egypt's ouster of the Muslim Brotherhood. It was done peacefully and spontaneously. The people of Egypt knew in their hearts they had to act to restore their country.
They instinctively knew it. All it took was for one person, one group, one gathering for the Arab Spring to take hold in Egypt. What they all knew in their hearts needed nothing but a "nudge" ... a call to action and they responded. They used the tools of Social Media to coordinate, communicate and share their thoughts and feelings during the demonstrations. In doing so, they managed to nurture each other, keep their hopes and spirits high, and ultimately they succeeded.
My vision is that the same is possible here in America. I can only speak to what I see and hear on a daily basis.
We all KNOW in our hearts that this country is headed in a dangerous direction. I hear so many people ask "when will SOMEONE do SOMETHING?"
To quote a speech given just before Election Day in 2008 ---- "we are the ones we've been waiting for!"
I believe it in my heart: this country needs a "nudge" ... a call to action that each and every American should they so choose can respond to. That they're not alone in their thoughts and hearts, and that they can in fact make it possible for their children and grandchildren to grow up in a better country which as American's is each one of our hopes as Parents.
My vision is much like the pictures we saw coming from Egypt and Tarir Square: MILLIONS of American's of like mind and heart coming together peacefully to demand a Restoration of America.
I personally would like to see those MILLIONS of people surrounding the White House. That does not mean other gatherings in State Capitals, large Metropolitan areas and the fields of America are excluded. Not at all.
My vision of millions of people surrounding the White House demanding a Restoration of America is founded in one thought and one meaning: showing the rest of the world that we as American's have had enough and that we too want our country back.
I've been fortunate enough to travel internationally as well as being an Amateur Radio enthusiast so I speak to alot of people all over the world (so far: 179 different countries.) Increasingly they ask what's happened to America? We're no longer seen as the shining city on the hill that Ronald Reagan proudly described through misty eyes.
We as American's who know in our hearts that we're headed in the wrong direction need to fix that.
That my friends, is my vision. Can it happen?
(With my humble apologies for the number of words it took me to spill my heart today. Now you see what Laz had to summarize!)
