Mississippi state senator Chris McDaniel may be running for the Republican nomination for one of his states U.S. Senate seats, but hell be the first to tell you that he puts his conservative principles ahead of his allegiance to party.
McDaniels proudest moment back home came when he tried to override a veto from Republican governor Haley Barbour one of the GOP establishments eminent figures to rein in the states aggressive use of eminent domain for redevelopment purposes.
Private property is one of the cornerstones of our Constitution. And if the government can take it arbitrarily for almost any purpose, then we are not truly a free people, McDaniel tells me over breakfast in Washington, D.C.
Now hes taking on Republican senator Thad Cochran, an old-school appropriator who has been serving in Congress for 41 years.

There you are, Onyx! Excellent! :-)

Yeah, I met him at our Vicksburg TEA Party’s January meeting where he spoke to all of us.
I’m telling y’all he’s better than you might think.
He’s the exact same as Ted Cruz and Mike Lee!
We must see to his election!
It’s a must!!!
McDaniel has an excellent shot of retiring Cochran for good. Cannot wait for primary day.
"Senator Cochran, once again, sided with the Democrats Thursday to pass another budget with more even deficit spending, adding to our unsustainable national debt."
(*I might add, that good ole Senator Wicker did as well!!!)

BTW, any reputable polling data yet?
He has my vote, and I hope he wins and remains steady on the side of right.
I will note the almost daily reports one gets from the Washington establishment that their focus in 2014 is not on actually winning elections and defeating Democrats and retiring Harry Reid, he says, but rather on crushing into the ground conservatives so they will never be heard from again.
None that I know of, reputable, being the key word.
The shameless and shameful, Haley Barbour is trying his level best to put out polls that show his DC Cronie-Thad and McDaniel neck and neck.
Here’s the problem with Mississippi- despite the reputation they have for crazy, unorthodox politicians, Mississippi will generally only pick people properly trained and groomed to be politicians- Go to Ole Miss, pledge Sigma Chi, get elected to University Student Council or Cheerleader, go to Ole Miss Law School, join a Congressional Staff, build a network of donors, only run for office when a Congressman or Senator retires, play it safe, talk like a Country Boy in Mississippi, talk like a New York insider when you get to Washington.
Chris McDaniel can travel in all those circles too.
His father was a college professor and Chris a lawyer, (Constitutional lawyer, like Mike Lee, NOT the phony Marxist).
He’s soft spoken, but he really knows his stuff.
It’s up to us to see to his election.
God bless and keep you.
Good pic onyx! Thanks for the ping.
He’s a GREAT guy!
Tell EVERYONE to vote for him!
This primary means everything!!!
Will do dear lady!
Party means nothing any longer... Principles mean EVERYTHING!
wicker and cochran... two turds in the Mississippi punch bowl.
