I am of two minds. Is Andy Young telling the truth, just protecting the vested interest of the King family, or is Hollywood so vested in sex that they want to make adultery the centerpiece of his career?

I’m old enought to remember back before the “March on Washington” and before MLK was thought of as a “saint”. He was a speaker and civil rights activist. Period.

I don’t know if it was mere propaganda, or the truth leaking out, but rumor had it that MLK regularly cheated on his wife and family. Remember, in those days the press ignored JFK and LBJ’s philandering. If the subject didn’t concern the man’s job or his family life, it didn’t appear in the newspapers of the day.

My dad heard from a sheriff’s deputy who escorted and provided security for MLK’s bus that the reverend and his entourage welcomed the services of other “escorts”.

He may well have been lying through his teeth, but with all the money, fat egos, fame, and building adulation surrounding the man, I’m almost certain they had their women followers. Surely, these girls were dealt with, one way or the other, but I doubt anyone read to them from the bible.

It amazes me how much people don’t know.

Ralph Abernathy (MLK’s right hand man) wrote in his autobiography that Dr. King was less than a saint.

Author Taylor Branch delved into as best he can, the FBI records on surveillance are locked up until 2027.

Branch got FBI techinicians to tell him what they heard on the audio tapes.

And what the FBI found out about the adultery got all the way to the top in 1963. Jackie Kennedy was audio interviewed after her husband’s death callin MLK a “phony” and saying he was arranging for “orgies” before the March on Washington in the summer of 63.

Dr. King was human and he made mistakes just like JFK and ultimately just like myself.

The story of his private life was being whispered around Washington courtesy of the FBI some 50 years ago this month.

The Kennedy Administration authorized the FBI spying and it continued into the Johnson Administration. CNN did a documentary a few years ago reporting on the tape that the FBI sent to MLK in 1964 that Mrs. King listened to of one of the adulterous encounters.

I THINK KING WAS SPIED ON BECAUSE THE DEMOCRATS WANTED TO KEEP HIM IN LINE FOR THE 1964 ELECTION. A SUSPENSION OF CIVIL RIGHTS PROTESTS WAS ANNOUNCED IN JULY 1964 TO HELP LBJ’S ELECTION.

I'm wondering the same thing. Is there evidence of MLK adultery or is this just wishful thinking by hollywood. I'm surprised they didn't try to make him gay.
