So true- my daughter and her husband live in rural Otsego county and his is a family with Dutch roots that has been there for several geneations. Believe me - they own guns and do a lot of hunting.
I do worry that the liberals are creating larger and larger pockets upstate - Ithaca (hippie valley); Rochester, the cities with universities. I hope the conservative New Yorkers (myself included) can hang on because there is much beauty in this state. Our children are being indoctrinated via the public schools and universities, however, and I am sad to report the indoctrination seems to be working. My own (3 20’s and one high schooler)daughters have not converted to liberalism but almost overwhelmingly ALL of their friends have bought the lies. The poisoning of the schools, media, and colleges has largely succeeded.
