I believe the Obamas paid for it - thats why the invitation encouraged guests to eat before they dropped by - no dinner was served.

I find it repulsive that anyone indulge themselves in their own birthday celebration for weeks on end (24 days in Hawaii). This is the height of self-aggrandizement and explains why these two are just right for each other.

The 'no dinner' claim is a ploy meant to calm outsiders.. They DID serve food and thousands of dollars in hard liquor.
