This is the first picture of nun and new mother Roxana Rodriguez.
The 33-year-old woman, a nun with the order of the Little Disciples of Jesus, stunned her mother superior and local church chiefs after giving birth last week to a baby boy which she has called Francis, in honour of the current Pope.
Sister Roxana initially claimed to have no idea that she was pregnant and thought her labour pains were 'stomach cramps' when an ambulance rushed her to hospital in severe pain after being called by fellow nuns when she collapsed at her nunnery.

A mechanism imposed to keep legitimate heirs to clergy from claiming church property as inheritance.
It's a shame too as I have many questions I would like to ask, just so I could learn and understand.
Not exactly. There is supposed documentation that Christ consorted with known prostitutes. It is "biblical", by the way.
How nice of her to name the baby after the Pope. If she’s enough of a Catholic to name her baby after the Pope, why didn’t she obey her vows?
Celibacy is praised by Christ Himself
Really...?
I find that hard to believe...
Chapter and verse please...
I think everything in your post makes perfect sense.
I don’t have all the answers, by any means, Ron, and this isn’t the Religion Forum, so stuff could get pretty ugly out there.
She didn’t break her vows. She took her vows in September. She was already pregnant at the time.
The Bible says he allowed a known prostitute to wash his feet.
Not sure about the “consorted” as that implies sexual relations. If you’re going to engage in blasphemy you might want to try better then “supposed documentation”.
This is one reason why I hope that there is no heaven or hell.
The last place I would want to spend eternity would be with my ex-spouses. Or with my dead parents and most of my dead relatives, by the way.
Doctors 'hang out' with sick people, too. That doesn't mean the doctor is sick.
Feel free to post references of "consorting".
>>The nun broke her vows.>>
No, she didn’t. The article states that:
“...as she took her vows and became a nun in the order last September.”
That means that she was almost five months pregnant when she joined the order. And that no doubt means that she was less than honest with the Sister Superior when she joined the order.
I do not know the requirements for every order of nuns on earth. Perhaps if she had truly repented for sex outside marriage, and did not know at that early date in the pregnancy that she was “with child,” her particular order might have accepted her. But, if she had missed periods as pregnant women usually do, then she should NOT have applied for acceptance to the religious order.
But once her vows were made, there’s no reason to say that she broke them.
Actually at one time priests were allowed to marry and have families. BUT when they died the family inherited their wealth instead of the church. Always follow the money. ;)
Whew, the "religious" forum is where it gets the ugliest!!
I learned my lesson the hard way!
Can you tell us where in the Bible anything says Mary Magdalene was a prostitute? It aint in there,,,
I don't believe in "blasphemy".
What is the crime, who is the victim and what is the punishment?
You post them. Search out Mary Magdalene.
I stay out of there, mainly because it gets (in a very ordered and calm way) incredibly nasty at times. I’d have to lurk on that one before I posted much.
Whoa. You made the reference, pal. Back it up.
I don’t go to any forum deliberately as my FR page is “latest articles” so I see all recent posts.
It makes for interesting reading and conversation....to say the least!
