Speaking to New Yorker editor David Remnick, Obama said he still viewed pot smoking negatively but that on the whole, the drug wasnt the social ill that its been viewed as in the past.
As has been well documented, I smoked pot as a kid, and I view it as a bad habit and a vice, not very different from the cigarettes that I smoked as a young person up through a big chunk of my adult life. I dont think it is more dangerous than alcohol, Obama told the weekly magazine.
The president said pot was actually less dangerous than alcohol in terms of its impact on the individual consumer.

It’s combining smoking and drinking.
The voice of experience. Wait until he starts telling us how great cocaine is. Those are about the only things we know(?) he has experience with. Or is he lyin’ about that to just get some street cred.
Not to mention that marijuana is a “gateway drug”, i.e. those who smoke it, are more likely to go on to hard drugs.
I don’t do either and I happen to think Obama is most dangerous of all.
A role model in the likes of Bill Clinton.

I guess Barry should know.

“I have zero doubt that it should be legal. About 90% of us felt that way.”
Who is this “us”? 90% of marijuana smokers think it should be legal — what a surprise!
Is it more dangerous than an E-Cigarette? If not, why do they ban E-cigarettes and not marijuana?
Dr. Obama speaks. Next week he’ll familiarize us with the government approved rice cooker.
Emboldened by no real opposition to his ministrations, he now fancies himself as the greatest Surgeon General the US has ever seen. Ok. Got it.
What can't The One do?
When I see people express thoughts such as yours, it makes me think that the abuse, or over-use, of substances such as marijuana or alcohol are the real problems.
Taking a drink, or smoking a joint, can be done without becoming severely impaired, or causing other problems in your life.
The real problems are when someone uses drugs or alcohol to excess.
Government has no right to dictate what substances people can put into their bodies.
