There are several other subjects that bring out the Neanderthals.

I think it is just that there are a lot more Neanderthals on FR than there used to be. Back in the late 90's when I lurked and then finally signed up, there was a core group of seemingly very thoughtful, intelligent people on here. I really felt I was on the same page as most people who posted here. Now, a lot of random people with thuggish attitudes show up and spew on all subjects.I don't post nearly as much as I used to.

On the positive side, most of, what I have seen as the worst of the goons have been banned over time.

I didn't sign up until 2000 but at that time I used to have intelligent conversations about constitutional law and other subjects. Now people just repeat the rants that they have heard on Fox News or from some whack job like Alex Jones.
