From a ratings standpoint, putting homosexuals on doesn’t make any sense. Two percent of the population, who the heck wants to see them anyway?
I’ve heard talk that they might have same sex dance couples on Dancing With The Stars.
Imagine that. How many people want to tune in to see some openly homosexual people, such as Rosie O’Donnell, dancing with a same sex partner???
The other day, I was just flipping through the channels and I ran into two female lesbian talk show hosts (you know who they are) back to back on different stations, ads for Glee and Modern Family, and two separate ads for boner medication.
I think they are trying to brainwash us into thinking that everyone is either gay or in need of boner medication.
I want a freaking break.
I agree.
But consider: I teach college (government). When the topic of homosexuality comes up as a matter of public policy, I ask the class to estimate the percentage of people that are homosexual.
Each time I ask, each class, they estimate the percentage as anywhere between 20-30% of the population being homosexual.
You can see, the brainwashing is well in progress and college-age and early 20’s are (I think) the target audience of those shows and therefore ratings would suffer if the college-age/20-somethings perceived the show was critical or non-accepting of homosexuality. . .and that would include NOT having the usual happy, well-adjusted, mature, quirky-funny enlightened homosexual on the show.
After all, these young’uns are accepting of homosexuality and are not turned off by the thought of homosexuality and what it truly is and their practices.
Just a thought. . .
If it were up to DU they would have a straight guy and a bunch of trannies to choose from and he would not be allowed to walk away.
There are people who will race others to the bottom to prove that they are tolerant and that would give those types of people what they want.
HBO doesn't agree. New show premiering tomorrow night, "Looking", the adventures of young gay men in SF. (Barf!)
