At some point I hope even these erstwhile stormtroopers will start to feel sheepish. There need to be more judges with a heart like this. Sometimes bare sterile law doesn’t do it... now here I am sounding like a liberal. But (and you are free to disagree, but this is what I note) liberals are often would-be Christians with no Christ and are trying to do it in the flesh.

That might have happened in the past when individuals were held responsible. A cop like this should be fired. period. Now cops are part of the SEUI, and the union will defend the cop no matter how egregious his behavior.
the law isn’t about crushing somneone to dust. conservative does not mean big brother boot on your face law enforcement. i don’t know why youthink that.
conservatives are not the ones who brought us zero tolerance security laws, or officer-safety-above-all-else-including-your-rights-and-your-life police tactics.
we get upset because libtards selectively enforce laws, use the law as a weapon to go after their enemies, ie IRS targeting, or politicize law - too many blacks being arrested, etc. say we have to follow the law, but they don’t. that’s what conservatives get angry about. the hypocrisy and double standards. further ignoring the lawand just doing what they want, but ot letting others do the same thing when they are in power.
